The PT reports that in an effort to keep up with rising costs, the Long Beach Airport has raised its hourly and daily parking rates doubling from $1.00 per hour to $2.00 per hour.

According to the PT:

Rates have also increased in three of the four long-term parking lots. Lot A, the closest lot, will stay the same at $17 per day. Lot B will increase from $14 per day to $15; Lot C will increase from $11 to $13; Lot D, the most distant lot, will increase from $8 to $11. A free shuttle service for Lot D will still be available.

Parking for the disabled will increase from $8 to $11 per day, a flat rate for all airport lots.

Spokeswoman Sharon Diggs-Jackson said the airport increased its fees to compete with rising costs across the board, including higher operating and maintenance expenses.
