An experimental treatment for PTSD that is available at the Long Beach Veterans Administration Hospital—one of only 12 of the 172 VA hospitals in the U.S.—will be featured on CBS’ “60 Minutes” Sunday.

The report on the popular news show features Dr. Michael Alkire of the Long Beach hospital, who is studying how a treatment called stellate ganglion block therapy, or SGB, can be used to help veterans suffering from traumatic disorders.

Commonly used since the 1920s, the treatment involves an injection of a local anesthetic into nerves in the back of the neck, according to a CBS report. The treatment lasts up to six months.

The episode of “60 Minutes” airs on CBS at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 16.
