Public help is needed to find Angela Hartzell, a 27-year-old resident of Washington, Pennsylvania, who has been missing since November 22 and is assumed to be in the Long Beach area.
Unexpectedly leaving Pennsylvania in early November, Angela’s mother Caren received a call November 6 that Angela was visiting family with her 37-year-old boyfriend, Michael Newman. The couple informed family there that they were heading to Las Vegas and, according to a call from Newman to Caren, they no longer had money and ended up in Long Beach.
“He had no explanation whatsoever as to why they went to Long Beach,” Caren told the Post.
Newman—a registered felon in Pennsylvania and, according to family members, a man also diagnosed with bipolar and schizophrenia—informed Caren that he and Angela were waiting in line at a food bank here in Long Beach when suddenly Angela went missing.
Worried about Angela’s whereabouts, particularly given her diabetes and thyroid issues, her aunt, Chris Trevathan, contacted Long Beach Walgreens to see if Angela had picked up any of her much-needed prescriptions. The Walgreens located at 600 Long Beach Blvd. confirmed that a female had picked up a prescription under her Angela’s name; surveillance cameras are being analyzed to determine if it was indeed Angela.
Angela is a white female, somewhere around 5’6″ and about 150 pounds; the photo of her was taken about one year ago.
Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Long Beach Police Department at 562-570-7260.
