At least seven Southern California water agencies will come together at the Queen Mary next week for a meeting of the minds, to discuss strategies for serving residents in the midst of a three-year drought. The Los Angeles County Water Summit will be held next Wednesday from 8:00am-1:30pm, and is sponsored by the Los Angeles and Long Beach Chambers of Commerce.
“Make no mistake about it, we stand at a crossroads in California’s water history,” reads a statement from Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, a co-host of the event. “I am an optimist by nature so, for my part, I predict that we will step outside of the box and we will develop aggressive water conservation and recycling programs that will reshape demand in Southern California.”
