Forgot to register? Couldn’t find the time? Don’t feel like voting this year?
Ok, enough with the excuses already. Today is the last day to register, and the County Registrar’s office is extending its hours tonight from 5:00pm to midnight, so head on down to City Hall on Ocean Boulevard and register to vote this November 4th!
If you’re already registered (or are not sure), you can check your voter status online thanks to a new feature at lavote.net. Click on “Voter Registration Status” at the top of the page and fill out a quick form to find out whether or not you’re already registered. If you are registered, you’ll find useful information like your nearest polling place, a downloadable sample ballot, and more.
“This exciting new web service allows voters to enter a few key pieces of information, click and view their registration status,” said Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan. “We think this is a valuable tool, not only for the upcoming Presidential General Election but for all future elections.”
I just tried it myself and, uh-oh, I’m not registered. See you at City Hall between now and midnight.
