The Long Beach Rescue Mission will receive a helpful boost today in their effort to feed, clothe and support the homeless this winter when Ryan Seacreast’s radio show on 102.7 KIIS FM will encourage listeners to lend a hand.
As part of the radio show’s 12 Days of Giving series, a local organizations is highlighted each day so listeners have a chance to give back. Today, a KIIS FM promoter will encourage listeners to stop by the Rescue Mission and donate one of the gifts on the non-profit’s wish list. The segment about the Rescue Mission can be heard at 9:00am this morning.
A KIIS FM vehicle will be parked outside the Rescue Mission from 5:00-6:30pm today so donators know where to go. The Rescue Mission is located at 1430 Pacific Avenue.
In conjunction with the City of Long Beach, the Rescue Mission will be operating a citywide winter shelter this holiday season that was recently approved by the City Council this week. The shelter will be located at 1405 Lewis Avenue. Click here to read more about the program.
Also, if you’re looking for another way to lend a hand, the Rescue Mission will team up with Long Beach Art Werks on Saturday to host a live art auction featuring work from artists from Long Beach, Los Angeles and Orange County. During the event, which is located at 435 Alamitos Avenue, 100% of auction proceeds will benefit the Rescue Mission. The lovely painting below this article is one of the pieces that will be on display. Check out the event Facebook page for more information. The art display opens at 12:00 noon tomorrow (December 12) and the auction begins at 5:00pm.
