A reward for information linked to the fatal shooting of a Long Beach resident in 2012 was extended by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, along with two other rewards set to expire.

Supervisor Don Knabe moved to extend a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the shooting death of Lawshown Fils, 26. The reward was set to expire today.

“Detectives have canvassed the area in an attempt to find additional witnesses to the incident … no additional witnesses have come forward,” Knabe said, adding he hoped the reward would eventually prompt a call.

The victim was shot in the chest and left in the street, near 14th Street and Cedar Avenue, at about 4:00AM on Jan. 11, 2012. A motive for the shooting is unknown.

Anyone with information on who shot Fils was asked to call Long Beach homicide Detectives Terri Hubert or Mark Bigel at 562.570.7244.

Other rewards extended include those in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old in a Lynwood strip mall and the fatal shooting of a Rolling Hills Estates resident active in various charities who also worked as an attorney.
