A $10,000 reward for information leading to arrests in a 2014 fatal shooting of a man at a Long Beach parking lot was extended by the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.
The recommendation to extend the reward was made by Supervisor Don Knabe. The reward was scheduled to expire July 15 and will now be available for at least another 90 days.
The victim, 33-year-old Compton man Charles Bell, was gunned down March 23, 2014 at a Denny’s restaurant on Long Beach Boulevard just before 3:00AM, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officials previously stated. Three other men were wounded as well.
Investigators believe the suspect—described as a black man in his mid-20s—tried to instigate a fight with the individuals who were leaving the restaurant, and it escalated to a shooting.
Authorities released footage on December 2015 of the suspect vehicle immediately after the incident.
Anyone with information was asked to call Detectives Scott Lasch or Donald Goodman at 562.570.7244.
