Councilmember Rex Richardson’s office announced Thursday its hosting of a second community workshop in Houghton Park this Saturday, where community members will provide feedback in a workshop regarding the Houghton Park Master Plan with Richardson and the Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) and Public Works departments—the second of its kind in a series of workshops aimed at engaging the public.
The workshop will take place from 10:00AM to noon at Houghton Park, a release issued by Richardson’s office stated. Refreshments will be provided.
“Upgrading parks and creating more open spaces is a major focus of my Roadmap to the Renaissance, and this starts with Houghton Park,” said Richardson in a statement. “I hope you will join me in this second workshop to share your experiences with my office and our city’s departments as we move towards completion of this plan by the summer of next year.”
Richardson’s “Roadmap” focuses on upgrading parks, community centers and open spaces, revitalizing Artesia Boulevard, and rethinking Atlantic Avenue, according to the release. The first meeting regarding the Houghton Park Master Plan and community center was held in November of 2014.
