6:30am | A rock concert held Monday at the Walter Pyramid on the campus of Cal State Long Beach benefits local veterans, drawing a lineup that features bands like El Chicano and a diverse group of performers that have recorded with some of the industry’s biggest names.

The event is called “Rock For Vets” and is hosted by The Rock Club to raise funds for the VA Healthcare Voluntary Services Division here in Long Beach.

Performers include Danny Seraphine (Chicago), Sal Rodriguez (War), David Elliot (son of Dionne Warwick), Mumtaz Morris (son of Stevie Wonder) and many more. Visit TheRockClub.net for a full list.

The goals of The Rock Club’s partnership with VA Voluntary Services are to create awareness of the program so returning soldiers can take advantage of their services, to educate the community to the benefits that the program provides, and to create a music rehabilitation program at the VA Long Beach.

Doors opened at 4:00pm and the show runs from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Tickets start at $35.00 for general seating and there is also an option to buy a ticket for a veteran. Call event director Frank McIlquham at 866.597.1116 or visit TheRockClub.net for more information.
