Rudy Komisza has been appointed Commander of the Long Beach Police Department’s (LBPD) North Patrol Division, LBPD Chief Robert Luna announced Wednesday.

Komisza, a 22-year veteran, began working with the LBPD in 1992 and was promoted to sergeant in 2000. He was then promoted to lieutenant in 2004. His most recent position was the acting commander of the North Patrol Division.

His work history with the LBPD includes Patrol, Gang Enforcement, Vice Investigations, Field Training Officer, Drug Investigations, Jail Administration, Internal Affairs, Office of Counter Terrorism, and Juvenile Investigations.
