Following the corruption probe of John Noguez, who stepped down as County Assessor, the Board of Supervisors were directed to identify qualified candidates to fill Noguez’s empty spot. Los Angeles County Chief Executive Officer William T Fujioka today recommended the appointment of Santos H. Kreimann to serve as Chief Deputy Assessor. Kreimann’s nomination will be considered by the Board of Supervisors at their meeting next Tuesday, June 19.
Santos H. Kreimann was appointed as the County’s Director of Beaches and Harbors on January 27, 2009. He is a longtime County employee with over 20 years of experience in various County Departments including the Treasurer and Tax Collector’s Office, the Department of Health Services, the Chief Administrative Office, and the Department of Beaches and Harbors. Mr. Kreimann received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from California State University, Los Angeles in 1991. He resides in Whittier, California with his wife and three daughters.
The new Chief Deputy Assessor is expected to step-in as Interim Assessor. Noguez’s leave is not scheduled to begin until the Board of Supervisors fills the currently vacant position of Chief Deputy Assessor. A salary and start date for Mr. Kreimann will be determined at a date in the near future as a transition plan is developed between the Assessor’s Office, the Chief Executive Office, and Mr. Kreimann. A complete resume and official photo for Mr. Kreimann can be found on the County’s homepage at http://www.lacounty.gov.
