12:30pm | Two shootings were reported this past Saturday night, December 3, and Sunday morning, December 4 near West Long Beach and downtown near the Long Beach Aquarium.
At approximately 10:15pm on Saturday night, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers responded to calls of gunfire near Hill Street and Earl Avenue. Upon arrival, a single male victim was discovered and transported by the Long Beach Fire Department to a nearby hospital. The official status of the victim has not yet been released.
Shortly after, at around 12:20am near the intersection of Aquarium Way and Shoreline Drive, two groups of men partook in a scuffle that eventually became violent. Six male victims were injured, according to LBPD spokesman Sergeant David Marander. At approximately 1:00am, near the 710 Freeway, several men were arrested in suspected connection to the downtown shootings.
