Following this weekend’s order that people stay away from Long Beach’s coastal waters due to a 22,000-gallow raw sewage spill from South Pasadena, Long Beach Health Officer Helene Calvet, M.D., today says that beaches were unaffected by the spill after lab testing.

Water collected from the entire coastal beach did not indicate any contamination from the spill.

So, feel free to enter local waters that are ranked among the state’s most polluted and least healthy, because at least it’s free of raw sewage.
