San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom will host a public town hall meeting tonight at Cesar Chavez Elementary, addressing a range of issues and fielding questions from the audience as he continues his campaign for the 2010 race for Governor of California. The event is open to the public and will begin at 6:00pm. Visit GavinNewsom.com/events for more information.

The event is one in a series of “Conversation About California’s Future” meetings that Newsom has conducted in the past few weeks. The San Francisco mayor was also in Long Beach in May to serve as Grand Marshall of the Long Beach Pride parade.

San Francisco, CA — Mayor Gavin Newsom will continue his
“Conversations About California’s Future” with voters in Long Beach,
Orange County, Sacramento, and Riverside in the coming days. Mayor
Newsom will discuss the economy, health care, and education and take
questions from the audience. The events are open to the public and
information is at: http://www.GavinNewsom.com/events.

Mayor Newsom has met with voters and answered their questions at 20
town halls so far, most recently in the San Fernando Valley, San
Diego, South Los Angeles, and San Bernardino.

“California needs new leadership. We can’t keep returning to the same
old tired solutions and expect a different result,” Mayor Newsom said.

Newsom for California recently named new members of the campaign team,
including Statewide Finance Director Chris Corcoran and Political
Adviser Tom Hsieh. Mayor Newsom earlier announced State Senator Alex
Padilla as his statewide campaign chair.
