1:01pm | A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy who lives in Long Beach and is accused of engaging in sex acts with a teenage girl pleaded not guilty on Friday, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Deputy District Attorney Deborah Escobar said Orlando Denison, 34, is charged with two felony counts of oral copulation of a person under 18., said DA’s Office spokeswoman Shiara Dávila-Morales.

The defendant was charged on May 5 in a felony complaint following his arrest.

Long Beach Police Department arrested Denison without incident last Thursday at his residence. The alleged offenses, which occurred in July 2010, involve a female relative who was 16 at the time.

If convicted as charged, Denison faces a maximum sentence of three years, eight months in state prison.

Dávila-Morales said that bail for the defendant was set at $100,000.
