5:00pm | Six people were injured in a four-car traffic collision today on the 710 Freeway that slowed traffic to a crawl as two lanes were shut down. Firefighters responded and applied the Jaws of Life to one of the vehicles.
According to the Long Beach Fire Department blog, the pictured Coca Cola truck slammed into the CalTrans truck, which slammed into another CalTrans truck and an SUV. Six people were injured (four with minor injuries, two with moderate) and five were transported to local hospitals.
The accident occurred just north of the PCH exit around 1:00pm.
Emergency responders shut down two lanes of the northbound 710 Freeway, but they have since been reopened and traffic seems to be moving smoothly according to SigAlert.com.
