A stabbing and a shooting left two people injured in Long Beach early Sunday morning, police said.

The stabbing took place near 10th Street and Termino Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Police responded to a local hospital at approximately 3:09 a.m., where they found a man suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds to his lower body, the LBPD said.

The man said he had been approached by an unknown man who attempted to rob him, which escalated to a stabbing, police said. The victim then went to the hospital on his own, according to police.

Officers were unable to locate a crime scene in the area described by the victim, and the investigation is ongoing, according to authorities.

Then at approximately 3:52 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Anaheim Street and De Forest Avenue in West Long Beach.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body, according to police. The victim told police that he had been approached by two men with firearms who began shooting at him, according to police.

The victim was then struck by gunfire, police said. The gunmen fled the scene prior to the officers’ arrival, police said.

The Long Beach Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

At the scene officers discovered evidence, including casings, that indicated a shooting had occurred. A motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation is continuing, police said.

Police are also investigating a separate no-hit shooting that took place at approximately 6:41 a.m. on Saturday in the 3300 block of South Street in North Long Beach, according to the LBPD.
