UPDATE | At approximately 10:07AM, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad determined the item did not contain any explosives, according to Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Marlene Arrona. Through traffic is returning to normal.

The investigation remains ongoing.

PREVIOUSLY: Suspicious Package in Belmont Shore Closes Nearby Area, Investigation Ongoing

6/6/17 at 9:57AM | At approximately 8:12AM this morning Long Beach Police Department officers were dispatched to Belmont Shore regarding a suspicious package in the 5400 block of East Ocean Boulevard.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad is on scene assisting the investigation. The nearby area has been evacuated while the investigation continues.
