The crash happened about 1:45 p.m. on Easter at Magnolia Avenue and 32nd Street, Long Beach police said.

A man who was killed when a vehicle overturned and caught fire on the 710 Freeway in Long Beach over the weekend was a 26-year-old resident of the city, authorities said Monday.

The crash occurred a little before 2:30 a.m. on the southbound freeway at Willow Street, the California Highway Patrol reported.   

The man was thrown from his bike into the westbound lanes of traffic where he was eventually hit by another vehicle in the carpool lane, the CHP said.

Police say a 76-year-old man died after a motorcyclist crashed into him at high speed in East Long Beach on Tuesday evening.

The crash left a trail of wreckage including a damaged power pole, a downed liquor store sign and debris scattered hundreds of feet along Studebaker.

Police were first called to the crash area of Judson Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway at about 8 a.m.

Daniel Patton, 66, died on Christmas Day after a car lost control and veered into spectators at about 1:30 p.m. near East 230th and Banning streets.

Firefighters and paramedics dispatched to the scene rushed seven victims—two trauma patients and five minor injury patients—to area hospitals.
