The current agreement expires 5 p.m. July 1, but a joint statement from both parties said neither is planning for a strike or lockout.
The ratified contract awarded workers a $4.25-per-hour increase over three years, guaranteed hour minimums for part-time workers as well as healthcare and safety improvements.
The agreement is being presented to workers for a vote.
The Long Beach Unified School District and the union that represents 3,000 classified workers have begun state-mediated fact-finding sessions, part of a protracted labor dispute largely over pay.
