Editor’s note: Authorities said Friday morning that Merola was found safe.

A 38-year-old Lakewood woman who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia went missing this week, according to authorities.

Tasha June Merola was last seen at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday at her home in the 6200 block of Cardale Street, according to Deputy Erin Liu of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“She suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, and family members are very concerned,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement.

Merola is white, 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds with short wavy brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white and blue hooded sweatshirt and light blue pajama pants with a bear pattern, Liu said.
