10:05am | Three Long Beach men who admitted to being gang members were arrested last Friday by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for allegedly burglarizing a home in Calabasas.

Kuy Vannora, 24, Jimmy Hong, 22, and Michael Kerry Bounsum, 24, all of Long Beach, were taken into custody June 10 shortly after the alleged burglary.

Deputies stationed at the department’s Malibu-Lost Hill’s Sheriff’s Station said a witness called police after seeing the three men scale the backyard fence of a home in the 26000 block of Cold Springs Street in Calabasas.

The first deputy to arrive at the scene said he saw three men in the backyard who subsequently ran behind the home. He then saw one of the men exit the house, sheriff’s deputies said.

The men fled the scene as the lone deputy awaited backup. However, a short time later another deputy spotted the trio on Lost Hills Road and detained them.

The men admitted to belonging to the Long Beach-based Asian Boyz gang during questioning., sheriff’s deputies said.

Vannora told deputies that the trio had been dropped off in the area to walk to Castaic Lake, which is roughly 40 miles from Calabasas. However, the witness who called 9-1-1 told police he had seen the three men exiting an older dark blue Toyota Camry in front of the home.

Vanorra and Hong denied that they had been in the Cold Springs Street home’s backyard, while Bounsum admitted to being in the backyard but refused to say why he was in the backyard, sheriff’s deputies said.
