The Moore League season opens today with three matches, Compton @ Cabrillo at 3pm, and a doubleheader at Blair, starting with Millikan/Poly at 3:30pm, and closing with Wilson/Lakewood at 6:30pm. That doubleheader is a doozy, considering Wilson and Lakewood have finished one/two in some order or another for several years, and Millikan and Poly will be competing for playoff spots, starting this afternoon in a contest that we could end up looking back on in a month. Nothing’s more important at the start of a season than momentum—as of right now, Big Mo’s not wearing anybody’s jersey. By the time these games wrap up tonight? We’ll see.
