Top-Floor Apartment Fire Displaces Resident, Damages Other Units

One person was displaced when a fire caused heavy damage to a unit on the top floor of a three-story apartment building in Long Beach today, and two other units sustained related damage, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the 4000 block of Elm Avenue shortly after 9AM, said Long Beach Fire Department Firefighter Matthew Dobberpuhl.

Firefighters assisted several residents to safe areas while others fought the flames. No injuries were reported. The fire’s cause and damage estimate were not available.
