5:45pm | A town hall meeting for Sixth District residents to discuss crime in the community will be held next week.

The meeting, hosted by Councilman Dee Andrews, will take place at Ernest S. McBride Park, 1550 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., on Wednesday, May 25, from 6 to 7 p.m.

Cmdr. Josef Levy of the Long Beach Police Department will discuss ways in which the community and police can work together to create a safer living environment.

“We are inviting our residents out to discuss ongoing crime in our neighborhoods. We must find a way to work together to weed crime out in order to make our community a safe and peaceful place to live,” Andrews said in a statement.

The event is free and open to the public. Additional information can be obtained by calling 562-570-6816.
