3:30pm | Two female students at Wilson High School have been arrested for witness intimidation in the murder case of Melody Ross, who was an innocent bystander shot and killed outside of the school after a football game in late October.

A 16-year old female and a 17-year old female were arrested on school ground without incident, authorities said.

Two teenage males are currently being tried for the murder, and the two females have been arrested in connection with intimidating witnesses that were testifying in the trial. The case is a capital murder case, which means that anyone intimidating witnesses faces the same maximum penalty that the actual shooters face, which would be life in prison.

The shooting was between two rival factions of the Crips gang, the Rollin’ 20’s and the Baby Insanes. Ross died at the scene. Two other victims, who authorities believe were the intended targets, recovered from their wounds.
