1:00pm | Two back-to-back attempted robberies occurred in the neighborhood of Belmont Heights.
Yesterday morning at approximately 2:14am, a robber attempted to break into the home of a resident near 4th Street and Termino Avenue. As he was attempting to get inside the home via a sliding glass door, her dog began barking and caused the suspect to flee. No arrest was made.
This morning, at 4:55am and near the same intersection, a robber carrying objects he had already stolen earlier from the same location confronted a tenant while leaving for work. After a physical altercation in which the robber was injured, the suspect fled shoeless westbound on 4th Street. The robber dropped a hat, a pair of black Converse shoes, and a package of cigarettes; further down the road, he also dropped his knife in an alleyway near Scratch Bakery.
Both incidents have the perpetrator described as a white male in his 20s, ranging in 5’8″ to 5’11” in height and weighing about 180 pounds.
