1:00pm | On Saturday, January 7, at approximately 10:39pm, Long Beach Police Officers responded to the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and 68th Street regarding a 9-1-1 report of a shooting.

Two male adult victims were standing on the sidewalk at the northeast corner of Long Beach Boulevard and 68th Street.  A gray sedan approached the intersection driving northbound on Long Beach Boulevard. The sedan stopped at the intersection of LBB and 68h Street. The male suspect(s) shot from the driver’s side of the vehicle striking both victims in the upper torso area. The suspects’ gray sedan fled the scene east bound on 68th Street.  The abandoned suspects’ vehicle was located in the City of Long Beach shortly after the shooting.

The victims did not know each other and were apparently about to enter a business when they were shot.  Both victims were transported to a local hospital.  The 21-year-old male victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  The 38-year-old male victim died as a result of his injuries.  The victims are both residents of Los Angeles.
