5:45pm | According to a police statement, Vinny Nguyen, a 43-year-old man who was receiving care for a serious medical condition and went missing since yesterday, has been located. He was not injured and is at a local hospital and receiving the medical treatment he needs.
3:00pm | Yesterday, at approximately 5:06pm, officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to Memorial Medical Center in regards to a patient, Vinny Nguyen (pictured above via surveillance), who had walked out of the hospital where he was receiving care for a serious medical condition. He was last seen on a bus heading southbound on Long Beach Boulevard toward Pacific Coast Highway at approximately 4:00pm.
Vinny Nguyen is a 43-year-old Asian male who stands 5’5” and weighs approximately 135 pounds, with black hair that is shaved on top where he recently had a medical procedure. He was wearing a striped long-sleeved shirt with dark sweatpants that have white stripes down the sides, has limited mobility with an unsteady gait, and may appear disoriented. He has difficulty communicating due to his condition and mainly speaks Vietnamese.
At the time he was found to be missing, Memorial Medical Center’s Public Safety officers immediately began searching the hospital, its campus, and surrounding areas. The Long Beach Police responded and worked with the Memorial Medical staff to search throughout the night, but have been unable to locate him and are hoping that the community may have information that will help them locate him.
