UPDATE 1:05pm | Long Beach Homicide detectives are actively probing the shooting death of a Sacramento man gunned down last night, they said.
The victim was found by police in an alley in the 700 block of East Pacific Coast Highway at about 10:23 p.m., a Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman told the Press-Telegram.
The officers reportedly initiated CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived and took over. The victim was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
LBPD spokeswoman Lisa Massacani told the PT that the murder is believed to have been committed by one or two male suspects. She could not, however, provide a suspect description, and a motive for the fatal shooting remains unknown.

11:15am | Authorities today said that a Sacramento man in his 20s was shot in Long Beach yesterday and subsequently died at an area hospital.
The Press-Telegram reports that the shooting occurred just after 10 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of East Pacific Coast Highway, according to the county coroner’s office.
The victim’s name has yet to be released pending notification of next of kin.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting are still under investigation.
