A video posted yesterday on YouTube documents the benefits Chick-fil-A’s sole Long Beach franchise enjoyed Wednesday from the “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” campaign that sprung up in response to Chief Operating Officer Dan Cathy’s confirmation of the company’s stance against same-sex marriage.

The video, subtitled “the video mainstream media won’t show you” and posted by a man who believes media “elites” like Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch will not broadcast socially conservative activity (no, I am serious. Listen for it at the 6:10 mark), documents a long line—at one point said to be a 40-minute wait—snaking in front of the Chick-fil-A franchise, which is located in the Long Beach Towne Center.

Many people interviewed during the 11-minute video state a belief that they are at the Chick-fil-A in support of the First Amendment, and all are against marriage equality.

“The reason I am supporting [Chick-fil-A] is that I believe in traditional marriage, not equal rights,” says a young teenage boy eager to be on camera. “I believe that marriage should be one man and one woman. It was Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.”

Chick-fil-A donates millions of dollars annually to a variety of Christian organizations, many of which actively oppose same-sex marriage; and some of which are associated with attempts to “cure” homosexuality.
