10:51am | Those interested in helping make Long Beach the most bike friendly city in the nation are invited to get involved by volunteering for the City’s Fourth Annual Bicycle Count on Thursday, October 20, or Sunday, October 23.
“These counts help our City acquire a better understanding of locations of bike and pedestrian activity, and which areas and infrastructure are used the most,” Vice Mayor Suja Lowenthal said. “Ultimately, the counts will help determine where bike and pedestrian improvements need to be made.”
The City of Long Beach and California State University, Long Beach are seeking 300 volunteers to help conduct bike and pedestrian counts at more than 35 locations throughout Long Beach.
