It’s no secret that Long Beach is home to a vibrant arts and activities community.  Or maybe it is, as many would argue that it’s difficult to find out about these events before they happen.

Well, real estate firm Doma Properties aims to change all that with the announcement of their new city event listings website, LimelightLB.com.

The new site will provide quick and easy access to information regarding the city’s latest events.  Users can search by date, cost, category and other methods, and will be met with extensive information about each event they select.  Most will provide photos, descriptions and driving directions.

Great events are happening in Long Beach every day and Limelight can capture them all in one place,” said project leader Ryan Smolar in a released statement.  “It’s free to use and it’s a great new resource for the city.

Limelight’s staff has already organized over 300 venue profiles to the site, along with nearly 500 event listings.  The site will draw information from the city’s handful of print and online publications to create a diverse plate.

“Soon, anyone hosting an event will be able to use the website for help writing press releases, booking advertisements, event consultancy, and designing and printing collateral,” said Rachel Potucek, project leader.  “Many events are hosted by business owners and community groups who aren’t professional event planners, and we think we can help them cover the basics without reinventing the wheel.”
