With summer beginning and many in the community falling on hard times, the lbpost.com is proud to be one of many sponsors to present the inaugural Health and Wellness Fair at Hougton Park (6301 Myrtle Avenue) tomorrow from 12:00-4:00pm, hosted by the Leadership Long Beach class of 2009. Expect a great opportunity for free health check-ups, as well as plenty of fun activities for families and chances to win great prizes.
The fair will feature dozens of exhibitors who are experts in the field of health and fitness. Memorial Hospital will conduct free screenings for a wide array of conditions, from sight and hearing to dental and blood pressure. Vice Mayor Val Lerch will open the fair and welcome guests, and Long Beach First Lady Nancy Foster will also speak on the importance of mental health.
In addition, free prize drawings will be conducted every hour, with a variety of prizes ranging from tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific and Long Beach Armada baseball games to gift cards from Target and Arco.
As a member of the Leadership Long Beach class of 2009 and one of many organizers of the event, I’m very proud to be involved in the Health & Wellness Fair and hope that others benefit from the services and fun activities that will be available at Hougton Park tomorrow.
