A 90-year-old woman died after crashing into four parked cars and two pedestrians near Millikan High School Saturday afternoon, police say.

The crash occurred around 2:35 p.m. when officers responded to reports of an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of Spring Street and Palo Verde Avenue. When they arrived, officers found that four parked cars and two pedestrians had been hit by a 2007 Lincoln Continental in a parking lot in the 6400 block of E. Spring Street, which is located near a Rite Aid.

Police said the driver sped through the parking lot hitting the four parked cars. A 68-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy were also hit by the parked vehicles, police said.

According to authorities, the woman continued speeding out of the parking lot before hitting a tree in front of the 2900 block of Palo Verde Avenue where police found her trapped inside. The woman was taken to the hospital where she later died, police said.

The 68-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital while the 10-year-old boy was released to his parents after only sustaining minor injuries.

The driver’s identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
