The Long Beach Fire Department’s Jaws of Life were used to extricate a woman trapped in her car after colliding with the Metro Blue Line downtown today. She was transported to the hospital in stable condition, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

LBPD Sgt. Bradley Johnson said officers were dispatched to an accident involving a vehicle and the Metro Blue Line at 4th Street and Long Beach Boulevard at 12:34PM today.

The vehicle contained just one occupant—an adult female—who was trapped and was extricated by the LBFD using the Jaws of Life, according to Johnson.

The woman was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition. No injuries were sustained by train passengers, Johnson said.

The investigation is ongoing.
