Woman robbed at gunpoint near Alamitos Beach public restrooms, police say

A woman was robbed at gunpoint by two men late Thursday evening near public restrooms in Alamitos Beach, Long Beach police said.

Few details were immediately available, but LBPD said officers from the South Division Patrol responded to a call of an armed robbery at 11:11 p.m. near the public restrooms in the 700 block of E. Shoreline Drive in Alamitos Beach.

The woman told police that two men approached her, one brandishing a gun, and told her to hand over her personal belongings. The victim complied, LBPD spokesperson Allison Gallagher said and was not injured.

Police said the men fled the area before officers arrived. Police have not offered any description of the robbers and said the investigation is ongoing.
