City meetings

The week after an election that will have major consequences across Long Beach and the nation, life rolls on. And so does local government.

Due to several cancelations, Long Beach city government will have just six public meetings this week, starting with Tuesday’s 4:30 p.m. session of the Housing Authority.

Then, at 5 p.m., the Long Beach City Council will have its regular meeting, where members will discuss the disposition and development of city-owned surplus properties. Also on the agenda is a $1.76 million contract with Fair Opportunity For Change and others to provide intensive case management services for those experiencing homelessness, among other items.

At the behest of three council members, the council will also review a recommendation for several departments to study the feasibility of distributing “all-in-one” fentanyl detection devices to Long Beach residents, for free.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will not meet Tuesday morning. They do not have their next meeting posted.
