The crash occurred around 9 p.m. while the woman was in the roadway on Lakewood Boulevard near Cedar Street.
They were rushed to the hospital after the crash, which happened around 9:50 Halloween night as they walked with a stroller at Los Cerritos Park.
The man was riding in a 2019 Infiniti Q50S when the sedan’s driver lost control on the stretch of Shoreline Drive that leads to the northbound 710 Freeway, police said.
Following a crash, the driver got out of his car and began walking in traffic lanes when he was struck by a 2014 Ford Mustang, the CHP said.
A 47-year-old man from Long Beach driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe was killed Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Buttonwillow, an unincorporated community in Kern County.
The van was blacked out and facing sideways across the HOV and a portion of the next lane, officials said.
A man died when his car went off a transition road and fell 60 feet to the 710 Freeway below, according to authorities.
Crews rushed to the scene after getting reports that the car was on fire and someone was trapped inside, the LBFD said.
“There were no traffic fatalities in the area in 2018 and according to detectives, the four this year were caused by vehicles failing to yield to pedestrians,” a police spokeswoman said.
