Long Beach Port Pours Foundation for the Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement Towers

Crews began constructing the new 515-foot tall bridge towers for the Gerald Desmond Bridge replacement Monday, completing their initial foundation pour at 8:00AM this morning. A total of 3,200 cubic yards of concrete were poured in and around 2,240 square feet of rebar, completing the important “pile cap.”


UPDATE: September 15 Board Meeting Regarding Port’s Modernization and Expansion Project Canceled

The Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) Joint Powers Authority’s (JPA) governing board has canceled its meeting, originally set for Tuesday, September 15 at 6:00PM at Silverado Park School Hall, the Port of Long Beach (POLB) announced Wednesday. The port will send notice of a new date when the meeting is rescheduled.
