Following four years of community input, the recent approval and adoption of the Globemaster Specific Plan empowers new landlord Goodman to create hundreds of new job opportunities that will provide innovative manufacturing, technology, entrepreneur opportunities and localized delivery services for the Long Beach community.

The next phase of the urban regeneration plan will provide:

  • Approximately 1,500+ new jobs across multiple skill levels
  • Reuse of the existing facilities minimizing impacts to the local community
  • Aviation manufacturing, aeronautics and aviation employment opportunities
  • New community walking trails, landscaped green zones and other requested amenities
  • Sustainable, environmental upgrades including solar powered roofs and EV charging

Long Beach Councilwoman Stacy Mungo said, “The Globemaster Plan will grow our twenty-first century employment hub. Building on the legacy of the Boeing aircraft manufacturing industry and the high-quality jobs it provided, Goodman’s new facility will optimize new opportunities to attract and retain the regional skills base, expertise, and competitive economies of Long Beach. We’ve worked hard to support the reuse of these buildings and protect the community from years of vacancy that would have included demolition and redesign, and we appreciate the community input and studies that have contributed to a plan that ensures good, well-paying jobs that increase the standard of living in our city.”
