(SPONSORED) In 2021, Long Beach will redraw the 9 Council districts to distribute the population of the City. Voters approved Measure DDD in November 2018, which established the Independent Redistricting Commission. For the first time in Long Beach history, residents will approve the final map, independent of the Mayor and City Council.

The City is looking for 13 members and 2 alternates who reasonably reflect the diversity of the City and have relevant analytical skills, familiarity with the city’s neighborhoods and communities as well as the ability to be impartial and work cooperatively with other commissioners.

The application period is open through June 30, 2020, for all residents interested in representing their community. Be a part of Long Beach history and help shape your city!

You can apply if you:

  • Are registered to vote in the City of Long Beach
  • Voted in the March 3, 2020 Primary Nominating Election or have lived in the City of Long Beach since March 31, 2019
