To thank Long Beach’s health care heroes, Boeing teamed up with Kahuna Chair to donate three oversized massage chairs to nurses at MemorialCare’s Long Beach Medical Center and Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach.
“With all that we’ve been through this past year, we wanted to do something to take care of our frontline health care nurses to express our gratitude,” says Tamika Lang, senior manager, Boeing Global Engagement, Southwest Region. “We hope these Kahuna Chairs will give them a moment to breathe and take care of themselves.”

The three massage chairs will be available 24/7 to nurses throughout the hospitals. After going on a “road show” to the different units, they will permanently live in a relaxation room just for nurses.
“Nursing is a wonderful, and tireless job,” says Tony Garcia, chief nursing officer, Long Beach Medical Center. “Having these chairs year-round will help ease those 12-hour shifts. We’re grateful to Boeing and Kahuna Massage Chairs for their generosity and for recognizing the compassion and bravery our nurses demonstrated this year.”

Long Beach Medical Center provides adult specialty care and shares a campus with Miller Children’s & Women’s – a full-service children’s hospital. Together, these hospitals make up the second largest medical campus in the Western United States.
