First time homebuyers are welcome to attend the Empowering Homeownership Expo that will take place at The Expo Center at 4321 Atlantic Ave in Long Beach on Saturday, January 28 from 1:30pm – 5:00pm. A first-time homebuyer is defined as someone who has not owned or occupied their own home in the last three years. This event is free to the public.

How much can I afford? What is the real estate market like right now? What type of home is right for me? How do I make an offer? These are just a few of the questions any home buyer has, and the Empowering Homeownership Expo was designed to help answer these questions of first time home buyers.

One of the sponsors of the Empowering Homeownership Expo, the Affordable Housing Clearinghouse, collaborates with community stakeholders to serve the special-needs population and very-low to moderate income residents. Sponsors Farmers & Merchants and the Long Beach Center for Economic Inclusion will be on hand to provide homebuyer assistance information.

  • History of Black homeownership in Long Beach
  • Preparing for the homebuying process
