While Summerland Signal Hill will officially open to the public on Saturday May 1, three of the 16 single-family homes — all with solar — already are under contract.

The Grand Opening event, featuring complimentary coffee from next-door neighbor and local favorite Black Dog Coffee Roasters, is from 10am-6pm.

Priced from the high $800s, the residences are located at 1399 23rd Street, east of Orange Avenue and opposite the highly-rated Signal Hill Elementary School.

The Model Home is now open by appointment, allowing visitors to explore all the smart-tech and sustainable features in Summerland’s 1,630-square-foot, three-bedroom residences.

Stepping through the front door, painted a coastal cerulean blue, you’re greeted by a spacious living room with large windows and wood-look flooring. The adjacent dining area can easily accommodate a six-seater table and offers a walkout to the private outdoor space. This open-air retreat is primed for entertaining, with select residences offering privacy walls and views of the Long Beach skyline.

The gourmet kitchen is designed in an L-shape with a peninsula that provides breakfast bar seating for four. Appointed with durable quartz countertops and Shaker-style cabinets, the eye-catching tile backsplash is paired with chrome hardware and a matching gooseneck faucet. The Samsung stainless steel appliance package includes a free-standing electric range with five burners, a built-in microwave/hood combination, and a built-in quiet dishwasher with integrated digital touch controls.

This first floor also features a convenient powder room for guests.

At the top of the stairs, a flex space provides the perfect nook for a desk or art easel. On this floor, there are two good-sized secondary bedrooms that share a bathroom with a double vanity, bathtub/shower combination and a toilet. A door separating the vanity from the rest of the bathroom makes morning routines less stressful, while the nearby laundry room prevents homeowners from having to lug their hampers up and down the stairs.

The luxurious master suite boasts a walk-in closet and enough space for a small sitting area. The ensuite bathroom features a quartz-topped double vanity with a four-inch backsplash, a generous shower with a semi-frameless glass enclosure, surface-mount LED lighting over a full-width mirror, and a separated toilet with an elongated bowl.
