The Long Beach Community Wellness Campus, formerly the historic Community Hospital of Long Beach, needs community support and input to close the gap in the local healthcare ecosystem.

With over 200,000 square feet, the Community Wellness Campus can be transformed to include a myriad of co-located vital healthcare resources on a mixed-use campus that are lacking in our community.

Community needs assessments, of which seven were conducted dating back to 2013, found the following are the most critical programs and services needed in the area:

  • Asthma care
  • Social services
  • Alzheimer’s and memory care
  • Trauma counseling
  • Culturally sensitive care
  • Substance abuse treatment
  • Diabetes care
  • Violence prevention
  • Health education for marginalized populations
  • Mental health care
  • Low cost dental services
  • Elderly care
  • Counseling
  • Primary care doctors
  • Outdoor/exercise space
  • Obesity prevention

As a diverse and ever-growing city, Long Beach requires a first-class healthcare system and the Community Wellness Campus plans to partner with organizations that have experience in delivering the listed programs and services.

The Community Wellness Campus needs your feedback to prioritize these services to make a comprehensive continuum of care accessible.
