Please join us this Saturday, September 19, for Homeboy Industries’ 17th Annual 5K Run/Walk and Community Festival.
Thousands of runners, walkers, families, and supporters from across Los Angeles and beyond will gather outside Homeboy Industries’ Chinatown headquarters for a morning filled with music, movement, wellness, joy, and community. Homeboy Industries founder Fr. Greg Boyle will welcome participants and help kick off the race.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early for packet and T-shirt pickup, beginning at 6:00 a.m. People who have not yet registered can do so on site, until 8:00 a.m. Everyone who crosses the finish line receives a medal. The morning includes a Kid’s Run, Kid’s Fun Zone and a half-mile Doggy Dash, making the 5K a celebration for the entire family.
The Homeboy Industries Community Festival will feature Homeboy’s beloved social enterprises, local artists and community partners, lowriders, vendors, giveaways and activities for all ages. Hope Alley will create a vibrant community marketplace featuring local street vendors and small businesses, in our efforts to directly support vendors who have been among those most affected by immigration enforcement.
The morning begins and ends with a street celebration filled with energetic vibes, laughter and connection — bringing together homeboys and homegirls, families, friends, supporters, artists, partners, and neighbors from throughout Los Angeles.
