Grafting is a horticultural technique that helps a fruiting plant produce faster and better quality fruits than growing from seeds. You can save up to six years by grafting and trees can easily produce in containers as well. Learn to graft as many varieties as you want into one single tree.

Can we graft any time of the year? No, there are seasons when the plants need to be left alone. This is the last grafting season for mangos and avocados until Spring.

Mango enthusiast Anthony Robles will present a grafting workshop this coming Sunday, November 1st at 12 noon. You’ll learn how to select a mango or avocado tree and learn grafting techniques. The workshop will take place at Ricardo’s Nursery at 6850 Atlantic Ave Long Beach, CA 90805 at 12pm and will last 1.5-2 hours.

A Mango or avocado plant will be provided for you to graft and take home. The workshop costs $50 to sign-up, which helps pay for the plant. Spaces are limited in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. Masks are required.
