Don’t toss out that torn top just yet, because International Repair Cafe Week is here and repair experts can help give a helping hand. Long Beach Time Exchange will be celebrating the week by hosting a Repair Cafe at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library on Sunday, October 22 from 12:30PM to 3:30PM.
From Berlin to Long Beach, community volunteers will be giving new life to broken items by making repairs together. Residents can bring items such as electronics, jewelry, bicycles, clothing and textiles to be fixed on the spot. Volunteers will be repairing items for free and for donations.
This year is the eighth anniversary of International Repair Cafe week, first started in a Repair Cafe in Amsterdam. There are now over 1,300 Repair Cafes in 33 countries.
The Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library is located at 5870 Atlantic Avenue.
